Mobile Gaming - Is it for You?

Author: Christina C Jones

What you do is you make a small download onto your Internet-ready mobile phone or Personal Data Assistant (PDA). You then use this software to gamble like you would use your computer at an online casino.

But mobile gambling is not for everyone. Here are a few reasons why:

  • People tend to play mobile games when bored. But most of those games are free. Online mobile gambling is not free- you are betting real money. When bored, it is easy to lose track of how much you have spent.
  • People tend not to take mobile gambling seriously. They dont do things they would normally do, like set a budget or not parlay their bets.
  • Mobile games require an internet connection on your phone. Some phones carry a surcharge for this that can add up very quickly and negate any winnings you might have made while playing on your phone.
  • Every minute you are playing on your phone is one minute deducted from your plan. Some people tend to forget this, and can go over their minutes, which again negates any money you might have won.
Now, these cautions dont mean that you should not gamble using your cell phone. They are just words of precaution that have already happened to people who have tried mobile gambling. If you set a budget, keep within it and dont use up all your minutes, you should be fine. If your plan carries a free nights and weekends plan, it is advised to use the phone for gambling at those times, which means you dont have to keep track of how long you are playing- just how much you are spending.
