Spirituality: Expanding Time Effortlessly

Author: Nick Arrizza, M.D.

There is an interesting phenomenon that I recently came across that not only has the potential to expand time but also holds promise in our ability to reshape our entire experience of reality.

On my way back from a conference recently I was contemplating while waiting for my connecting flight how I might be able to "settle" into a greater state of inner peace within myself.

I have known for some time that our beliefs affect our behaviors, perceptions and our experience of our reality. What I also learned from my contemplation on my trek is that they also "create" our reality.

Additionally, I learned that one could effectively step "outside" of beliefs that felt limiting, and by doing so one could literally change the very nature of reality. To illustrate what I mean I recount the following experience.

As I was awaiting my flight, I decided to stroll peacefully through the airport near my departing gate. I got into a very peaceful rhythm that became almost blissful. I felt very relaxed and as I walked everything felt effortless. It wasn't a meditative state although it had similar qualities. I was very much alert, present and sensitive to my every experience.

I must emphasize the effortlessness of the experience since this is what I intended for myself. I wanted to simply go on experiencing this state without any external intrusions that might cause me to feel rushed or hurried.

I gradually found myself wandering over to get an ice cream cone which I enjoyed slowly and in the same unhurried fashion. As I was doing so however I found myself needing to get to the bathroom. I checked the time, which I had been oblivious to until then and noticed that there wasn't enough time for this in the same unhurried fashion as the plane was just about to board.

So I began to experience a sense of being "squeezed" by the circumstances and this was forcing me to rush in finishing my ice cream cone and going to the bathroom.

I chose however to resist being "squeezed" by this. I made a conscious intention to remain calm, peaceful, and unhurried no matter what would transpire. Interestingly within 30 seconds of doing so the airline stewardess came on the loud speaker and noted that the boarding of the flight would be delayed by about 20 minutes.

This gave me the added twenty minutes that I desired to accomplish all that was necessary and at the pace that I desired.

The point I wish to highlight here is that we carry within us a deeply embedded and complex series of beliefs that we allow ourselves to become enslaved by and which literally "push us around", that is force us to live our lives in a manner that is not desirable to us.

We call the effects of this undesirable state "stress"!

We rarely ever sit back and look at the beliefs that are pushing us around, even less challenge them outright within ourselves.

There is however a great deal of creative power available and accessible to us when we do just that. In other words when you make a conscious choice to live in a state that inherently feels comfortable to you then it's as if the very nature of your reality shifts to accommodate you.

In other words "you" become the master of your reality rather than it being the master over you. You become the creator and as such you can live as comfortably and as peacefully as you wish.

How this happens is difficult to explain but I will say that challenging your beliefs are the key to your freedom, happiness, fulfillment and longevity. I think you already know that deep within yourself. The question is how courageous are you in committing yourself to the life that "you" want?

A powerful tool called the Mind Resonance Process(TM) (MRP) that I have written about in this ezine helps you become more acutely aware of your limiting beliefs and helps release you permanently from their bondage.
