Isnt this flower AMAAAAAAZING? my friend exclaims. Totally! I reply with enthusiasm in a slightly teasing tone, totally AMAAAAAAZING! This is a fairly regular exchange between us, because my dear friend can hardly make it through a conversation without emphatically declaring that this or that is simply AMAAAZING! I absolutely love this about her! In fact, now, even when shes not around, I find myself genuinely and ecstatically declaring, It was sooo AMAAAZING! You might be thinking, what does this have to do with my life, my road toward accessing my greatest potential? Well, I would offer that emulating my friends behavior could make the difference between you having an alright life or an AMAAAZING life! Its true! The words we use every day hold incredible energy and do much to mold and shape who we are at any given moment. A simple vocabulary expansion may be the missing element that will make your life, and the lives of those you touch, over the top wonderful! Its so easy to implement that it will make your head spin! It is a basic, 3 step process that will lead you to the knowledge that each moment holds within it absolute perfection. Believe me, I know, from first hand experience that this simple formula really works! Heres the formula: (1) Generate ideas for your own AMAAAZING! (2) Try it on by saying it aloud (3) Declare it regularly, and with conviction when in the presence of others! Thats it! I told you it was simple! Heres the challenge- Write down a list of words or phrases that, for you, resonate with the same energy that amazing does for my friend. Some examples are: spectacular, magnificent, wonderful, awesome (this is totally 80s but still fair game), far out (totally 60s but great fun), and so on. You get the idea. Put a mark next to two or three words or phrases that affect you the most when you say them. Look for those that make you smile, or those that make goose bumps break out all over your body. These conditions might be good indicators of words that hold an innate positive energy for you. Then try on your favorite words or phrases by using them to comment about things when you are talking with your family or friends. After trying on a few, you will be ready to pick your AMMAAAZING. How will you know when youve found your AMMAAAZING? Here are two indicators: 1. The word or phrase makes your heart race slightly, or maybe profoundly at first (like you cant believe youre saying that), and 2. The word or phrase makes the person or people you are talking to look at you like did you just say that over-the-top thing I just heard you say? It must have these two effects to produce that perfect outcome. Once you find that perfect word or phrase, find as many opportunities to use it as you possibly can. Try not to sensor yourself; this will make it much more fun and much more effective. For example, you might take a bite of something yummy while eating lunch with a friend and exclaim, This is soooo FABULOUS! Dont you think? Another example might be that you are taking a walk with a loved one when you stop dead in your tracks and say with conviction Look! Isnt that sunset AMAAAAZING? Dont worry, you cant over-use your word or phrase. Okay, youve probably noticed that I have a special place in my heart for AMAAAZING but really, any word will work! The more you intentionally express yourself through your new vocabulary, the more you will find yourself delighting in your surroundings and experiences. The more you genuinely share your delight by employing your new language, the more you will notice that those around you are experiencing a heightened sense of gratitude and wonder for their own surroundings and experiences. You see how this works? Its a fabulous snowball effect that will magically transform your life as well as the lives of those you touch into glorious moments of utter perfection! In short, life plus delight equals perfection! Isnt it wonderful how the slightest changes in our behavior serve to propel us into ever more experiences of beauty and abundance? Heres to you discovering your AMAAAZIING and creating a life filled with delight and perfection! Copywrite 2006 Angel C. Hale |
